My new website has gone live. If anyone feels like popping by they can access the main site and shop at www.eskimimi.com and here is the Igloo Blog

Here's a screenshot of the site a few days ago, though content is always changing, so there are new items on there now.

I have also moved D.A. accounts to *Eskimimi, which is where I will be uploading all of my craft work, etc from now on.

Everything is going great and I finally bought myself a sewing machine, which is wonderful!

Bees and Zombees

Journal Entry: Sun May 18, 2008, 1:07 PM
Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.

One such un-aerodynamic Mr. Bumble once flew into my guitar, committing Bee kamikaze as though his GPS system told him the way into the guitar, neither his sense of direction nor my gentle coaxing could tempt him back out again, and his amplified buzzy song slowly died to a faint hum and then into nothing. To commemorate my friendly little bee buddy I made the following picture:

And I dedicated to him the following little ditty:

Ode to a Bee

Hello, Mr Bumble.
I wonder how you are
As you busy buzzy tumble
Inside of my guitar.

I hear your jazzy music
that your buzzing makes for me,
Though it's composed of just one note
(Naturally, a 'b';).

You've been in there for hours...
Iwonder how you are
And if I should pick some flowers
And put them into my guitar?

Then you can make some honey
As you play for me
And I can make some money
With my buzzy busking bee!

Some months after the incident, the sad fate of the bee still weighing on my conscience, I made a commemorative bracelet of the friend I never got to know. Wittily, I called the polymer clay Mr Bumbles 'BEEDS', because, you know, I am never one to miss a pun.

Now, some years after the bee in the guitar incident, I play an electric guitar - there's no way a bee can find his way in there, But still, I like to think of what my friendly bee would be doing if he didn't decided to pay a visit to that huge, pink, guitar-shaped flower in Mimi's living room. Much as I like to think of him, this is what the romantic side of my nature would care to imagine:

But in reality, I know that the bee is dead, and far more likely to look it, even though he may still be cute (please excuse the following pun - I never could resist a bit of wordplay... Zombees...) Heheh - geddit?!

I close with some more great Bee artwork from all around DeviantArt. I m surprised that my friend the bee managed to visit so many people before he finally found his fate in my flat - losing his way in my living room, stumbling into my guitar. Maybe it is a sure sign that I should tidy up....

Anyway, bees for your viewing pleasure:

He Gets Around, that Munkeh

Journal Entry: Fri May 9, 2008, 12:58 PM
Monkey has a friend. Well, Monkey has lots of friends, but he has one very particular friend called 'Munkeh'.

Monkey and Munkeh love all of the same things - drinking Monkey Beer, playing pool, watching Dog The Bounty Hunter and hanging around trees. Recently, though, it has come to Monkey's attention that Munkeh may be moonlighting - 'doing his own thing', as it were.

Browsing through DeviantArt, Monkey has ben ditressed to find out that Munkeh is not only having adventures with Monkey and myself, but also appears to be posing for other DeviantArtists as well!

We honestly do not know what to think of this. A few examples are below. We'd appreciate if anyone could point us in the distraction of any other pictures of Munkeh that they've seen around D.A. as we miss him when he goes off for a wander!

Give Peas a Chance

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2008, 9:38 AM
'Give Peas a Chance' was an old bumper sticker slogan parody of the Lennon/Plastic Ono Band track. Here are a few deviations featuring peas and Lennon related subjects, because I am bored and also making some pea related items at the moment, so it seemed appropriate.
